My Name Is Snickerdoodle: The day the music died...

The day the music died...

Literally.

Our external hard drive crashed yesterday afternoon. over 5,00o songs lost and gone from itunes. I feel so bad for Ian, because music is a big part of his life. This morning he came to me while I was packing the church bag and said, "You need a hug." I asked him what for and he said that I also lost all my mission tapes, too. While on my mission I had made several cassette tape letters that I sent home to my family. Do you remember this post? I had over 17 hours of me talking (I know it sounds boring, but it was my history) and now it's gone forever.

We are still crossing our fingers that we didn't loose any pictures, but you don't really know it's missing until you go to try to find it.

I am currently in mourning...hugs to me!

  1. ohno!!! you didn't back any of it up?? i need to get caught up with my backing up, but my itunes and *most* of my pics are backed up on disc (and the externals). if you have your music on an ipod, you can download those to your itunes folder, again. is it completely dead?? you might be able to recover it, if not. definitely big hugs!!! i lost 2 years of G's pics, but luckily for the most part i was still using film most of the time. and i lost a 100 or so cds that i had downloaded onto itunes, but i just had to reload. that totally stinks amy!! it.will.be.okay. xoxoxo!!

  4. well, now we will have back ups...it was kind of our back up, but I guess that 'ain't' going to work any more. We are going to have a huge project this week and just burn everything we have! YUCK!

  5. That is highly unluxury. If they are on your iPod, there is a way to put them back on iTunes. Just Google it, I've had to do it before too. Sorry!

  11. Oh, no! So, we had a hard drive crash in November. Searching your computer in order to discover what info/photos you may have lost is not on my list of fun things to do.

I am hoping the best for you & I miss you!

  13. It wasn't actually the computer this time, but thanks for offering up Hal's services! We love our Mac and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  15. If you still have the hard drive you may be able to recover data (and by you I mean paying someone else a lot of money to do it for you). I know someone in Houston that would be able to do it, but if you look around and ask some friends you might be able to find someone close to you!
