My Name Is Snickerdoodle: Barely

Have you stopped reading my blog because 1. I haven't consistently updated for a while now or 2. It's completely boring around these parts and it seems all I talk about is food? I wouldn't blame you.
I have been struggling for about a week with a nasty thing called gout. I didn't know I had it until Monday when our friend (who is an ER doctor) took one look at my ankle and asked if gout runs in my family. I have new sympathy for the dad! Pretty bad, but not as bad as some of the pictures I googled (YIKES!) It's extremely painful and totally inconvenient because I can't really walk anywhere. And since I am pregnant I am limited on what I can take to treat it (nothing) and manage the pain.
I am, however, so grateful for Ian, family and friends that have been so helpful. My house is sparkling clean and we had a delicious meal last night that neither Ian or I had to cook. Today is probably the best day (hence why I am sitting and blogging), but it's still pretty uncomfortable and I won't be running any marathons soon!
On a fun note, Liam ate a slice of pizza the other night. That is HUGE for him! I wasn't going to make him eat any, but when the delivery guy came to the door you would have thought Santa came for a visit. Liam got really excited and I asked if he wanted some. He jumped up and down and screamed "YES"! It was supreme even. I am hoping this is a good change in his taste buds an we are on a uphill climb!

  1. If you do visit at the end of the month I will have to bond with my grandson with big slice of Domino's pizza!

  2. Are you kidding? I check for updates every day! Your recipes save me from dinner doldrums and Liam is the cutest kid around. :)

I really hope you feel better soon!!

  7. Glad you are feeling a little better. Gout is no fun. Dont overdue. Ian is the best husband and is always a great help to you. Thank you Ian and the rest of the family in helping Amy and the family. Way to go Liam in liking pizza.

  8. yikes!! my doctor told me i had gout (& after a normal xray) a few years ago, so for 3 months, i thought i had it & it wasn't getting any better...went to a podiatrist & had a computerized xray that showed that i had actually broke a bone in my foot...just saying.

    hope it's better soon!
