My Name Is Snickerdoodle: Could I love him any more?

Could I love him any more?

A few weekends ago we went to play at the park with my sister-in-law's family and Ian's little brother. We hit a few balls around, played frisbee (yes, even I the super prego played) and let the kids play on the playground while we all chilled on the ever so comfortable benches. It was fabulous weather and it was great to get out of the house and show off my big belly to the world!
Liam wanted his turn at hitting the ball (his cousin, Landon, is on a T-ball team). He actually hit it once, but we will keep practicing because he loved it so much.
{Notice...or rather don't notice...my nasty infected cellulitis covered shin. That night I drained the infection, finished up my antibotics later that week and we are on the uphill to recovery. It's not nearly as painful, but still looks completely gross and leprous!}
Check out his determined face!
This is what I call a 'hold your mommy breath' and let them be a kid. He didn't get too far up thank goodness!
How in the world am I going to love this next child nearly as much as I do this one?

  1. I remember feeling exactly that way about 21 years ago when my second child was about to be born. Somehow there is suddenly and miraculously room in the heart for the second child. (I have no idea about a third - I didn't go there)

  2. Look at Liam. He is getting so big. Hitting baseball's like his cousin. Where does the time go. Now for the second grandchild. Hurray. Love the first and will love the second.

  3. i find it so interesting that many mothers feel that way about their second. i was SO SO SOOOOO excited for Eliana. maybe it's because i hated watching Allie grow up. it broke my heart with every new phase that allowed her to be more independent. so when we found out we were pregnant again i was SO relieved. i could finally let Allie grow up and be happy about it...because i had another "baby" on the way. the love just multiplies, over and over and over. just like you "fall more in love" with you hubby or kid already. the love deepens and it grows. :) he's almost here!! that is exciting. love you so much, Amy Star!!!!!
