My Name Is Snickerdoodle: Parentals

We were lucky enough to have my parents come for a well needed visit after little one came.
Liam was particular in heaven because he had his best bud to play with...grandma!
{Liam is winking if you were wondering "what's up with his face?}
We got my dad hooked on the iPad and Netflix so Ian was in heaven to convert one more person to an Apple product. I took a picture of my dad and Ian sitting on the couch. Ian had his blue tooth headset on watching a movie and my dad had earplugs in connected to the iPad watching a different show. It was actually a bonding moment between the two of them, but I won't post the picture because my dad hates it when people take his picture sitting on the couch. Your welcome, Dad.
But, I will post this picture because I love it so much! I have a very similar picture of my dad and Liam in the hospital when Liam was born.
Liam kept my mom entertained pretty much the entire time.
My parents took Liam to Cabela's while I stayed home with Owen. My back was killing me and I was a little low on sleep...we are talking trying not to snap at anyone and everyone for no apparent reason other than I had just given labor to another human being and hadn't gotten more than 4 hours straight of some Zzzzzz's.
I love this picture of my mom and Liam...I can just hear my mom saying,"I just gotta hug and kiss you!"
Liam trying to be like daddy with Grandma's camera.
Mom and I got a couple games of Yahtzee in (tradition) and I scored a Yahtzee...I just like saying that word...YAHTZEE!!!
We didn't do much (which I still feel bad about), but I didn't want to take Owen out too much and I was just too dang tired to function properly. I am sure glad they came, though. My parents are two of the most wonderfully kind and loving people I know. I am so completely grateful to call them mine!

  1. We had the best time. We were really sad to leave but the time we had was precious. Every moment savored. Trust me. We love you all so much. It was good to see everyone and especially Owen. He is a very good baby. You have handsome boys. We wouldnt have traded any of it. Loved every moment.

  2. ohhh, what a sweet post. I could just FEEL their love in the pics. your dad holding Owen and your mom holding both her boys at the end/ so so sooooo precious. i am so glad they came and had some bonding time. that's awesome. :)

  3. I love your parents... and I'm pretty sure I saw your dad at the mall a few weeks ago, but he didn't have his mustache and so I wasn't positive it was him (I haven't ever seen him clean-shaven before!) and I didn't want to make a fool out of myself if it wasn't him. But, seeing these pictures, I realize that it WAS him! Ha ha ha! I'm glad your parents were able to visit you! Your mom has the magic touch with babies!
