My Name Is Snickerdoodle: Christmas Joy Journal

Christmas Joy Journal

When I was a little girl, I had a diary that I just loved.  It had a lock and key on it and I thought it was the best thing in the whole world.  I trusted that diary to keep all my 'secrets' safe.
When I was a teenager I was religious about keeping a journal (because diaries were for babies!).  Most every night I would write my thoughts and feelings down, draw doodles and tape every single movie ticket I had in that thing.  Even when I served a mission for my church I kept track of everything.

As I grew into an adult, got married and had kids, it just stopped.  Life happened and I felt I was living my dreams of what I wrote in the journals and diaries years ago.  I guess that's when I started this here blog and it filled that journal void my heart needed and still needs.  I don't write about my day to day activities anymore and that's okay.  I do however find other ways to keep track of our fun memories in our family.

It all started when my husband suggested we keep a Thanksgiving Journal (you can see a peek of that HERE) 8 years ago.  It wasn't until last year when I had the thought to keep a Christmas Journal for our family.

I found this little "Joy Delights In Joy" notebook at Target a few years ago.  It came in a little pack with two other colored notebooks.  I had big dreams of writing my thoughts and feelings down in them but, again, life happens and I just didn't dedicate myself to do it.
Last year we had some pretty amazing miracles happen and I didn't want to ever forget them.  I was looking for some tape when I came across this little red notebook and thought it would be perfect for our Christmas Journal.  The title was spot on and really expressed how I feel this time of year.

It only has one year logged in it so far but, we have been completely blessed and have the opportunity to bless others this year, I've already started filling out a few lines of those special experiences.

I don't know about you, but it's always such a spectacular feeling when you happen upon a new tradition that sparks the goodness in your family!
