I just posted the entry below, but I had to post again. I just read that my cousin (who just got a job at Disney Land) assisted THE David Beckham and his boys on Splash Mountain. How cool is she???? I am such a star struck person it’s ridiculous. I have met a few famous people in my lifetime and I do try to keep my coolness in check. But afterwards I totally freak out inside. It’s the little giddy girl in me.
Anyways, my point…I have so many cool and fabulous people in my life that because I know them, I feel cool. Now should I be worried about being cool at my ripe old age? No. But, can I help but want to be fabulous. No. However, I don’t think think that I am. BUT, because of these people I do want to become a better person.
I categorize these people into a couple different groups.
First their is my husband and son. I don’t know how he does it, but Ian holds the bar high for being the coolest person…whilst being super goofy at the same time. He loves to make everyone laugh so that indeed makes him cool. Liam is following in his footsteps and loves to ham it up. Not only that, he is such a ladies man. That boy absolutely loves to flirt! Having a wonderful son just makes me feel cool.
Then there are my cousins. Being an only child I loved to hang around my cousins. Now, to be honest, we don’t have as strong of a bond as do they all with their siblings, but when we get together we have no problems acting like brothers and sisters. They are always so fun to be around and have all accomplished so many great things. They definitely inspire me. Along with this group I can classify my aunts (my mom’s sisters). Growing up I wanted to be like all of them in a way. They all have such great qualities!
My friends in the past and present have always been wonderful. Especially my present friends. I seriously am amazed of how wonderful these ladies are. I used to say (when I was in high school) that I only had cool and beautiful friends. And thinking about all of my current friends…that still holds true!
Being married, you “inherit” a new family. That was probably one of the most stressful things in my life. However, over the years I have felt cool by association with Ian’s side of the family. Not only with his immediate family but extended as well. I am also in awe of the wonderful accomplishments that have achieved and have been inspired with that aspect of my life as well.
Not lastly, but my parents are super cool. You really can’t help but love them. They are always so generous and kind to everyone. They are like the kids in school that while say hello to anyone that walks by them in hall. Also, I think Liam will have the only grandparents that will play video games with them…and might have the newest system before he does!
So what I am saying is that the people in your life can have a positive influence in your life. Whether you think it or not you are someone’s coolness. So even though I am not cool, the people I hang out with are.
Speaking of cool…here is the latest picture of Liam. He LOVES laundry! I was folding some whites and he got a hold of Ian’s sock. He handed them to me, sat down and put up his feet. I love how smart he is! I put them on and he wore them for the rest of the day.
