of dating that is! Ian and I met on a blind date 8 years ago tonight. My best girlfriend, Rachel set us up and actually went on the date with us. We met up at Wendey’s and then from there went to a church singles dance. I was so nervous because I absolutely hated blind dates, but Rachel said that we were perfect for each other. The whole time we were at Wendy’s (for a quick bite to eat) I thought he was into Rachel, but come to find out that he was just as nervous as I was and felt more comfortable talking to her instead. She know a ton of people so when we got to the dance she would leave us during the slow sets hoping one of us would get up the guts to ask each other to dance. Wasn’t happening. I am old fashioned and wasn’t about to ask him and he was still so nervous that he just wanted to talk. Finally at the last song, we danced. Neither one of us can remember the song, but I remember having a great time. Not much of a first date, but I loved hanging out with him and knew I wanted to do it a whole lot more. So every year on this day we celebrate by getting Frosties at Wendy’s and reminiscing. Thank you so much, Rachel for your mad match making skills! I love you, Ian, and am so glad that you didn’t drive away because we were late and you thought we were showing you up!
