Just go with me on this…

This is my super lame attempt to put some pictures together since we don’t (yet) have the wide angle lens that I am actually drooling over. Ian says it’s his next big purchase and I cannot wait to play around with it! (Ian is going to roll his eyes when he sees this frankenstein-esk picture that I know he could do ten times better, but it’s something on my to do list of things to blog about and I want to check it off sooner rather than later…phew!…run on sentences are my specialty!)

I am in love with it (even though I still need to add a few things, like a picture for that frame on the left.) I say more is perfect when loading up trinkets and frames above your kitchen cabinets, but that is just me.
You want to know what my favorite thing is up there? That ugly can of olives on the far left. We have had that huge can ever since our wedding day. See, growing up I was a super fan of black olives (now I have expanded my horizons and love green and kalamata versions as well). Probably from age 6 till I was 16 or 17 (when she passed away) my grandma Cora (my dad’s mom) bought me a large can of olives for my birthday that I could have all to myself. The most healthiest thing ever? Probably not, but she and I shared our love of salty things. I would even drink the brine (which now grosses me out). She always promised me that she would even buy me a can and give it to me on my wedding day. Well, that can showed up on the wedding gift table almost 6 years after she left us. I cried when I saw it and vowed to always keep it. Luckily Ian is a sucker for sentiment as well and has let me display it no matter where we have lived.
