A million years of jam

A few days ago I canned my very first jam. I had avoided it for so many years because I thought it was difficult. Not so. Especially when you have help. My sister-in-law and I went over to my mother-laws-house to can our brains out! 5 hours, two stove fires and sore feet from standing the whole time…we came out with 63 bottles of jam goodness. I came home with 23 bottles to add to my already 10 containers of freezer jam I had done (one, because I had found out how super easy that is and two, I found strawberries for a $1 and blackberries for $.77…you can’t beat that!) I was so pleased with myself that I had enjoyed myself and made some beautiful jars to add (start) my food storage.
A while back Rhonna posted this free download that I snagged. I had no intentions at the time to even make any more jam, but thought they were adorable. They came in handy. Last night I used those strawberry jam labels and made my own (not so fancy) apricot cherry labels and boysenberry labels (even though I just figured out that I spelled it wrong….darnit!) Do you think we can live off of water and jam? Because that’s what comprises of our food storage!
