My boys are already asking when summer will be here. Â The only other question they ask me is when the neighborhood pool will be open! Â It might be one awesome summer or a super long one. Â HA! Â Now that they are little older our playtime options are slightly broader and I am excited about that. Â I don’t have to bring a diaper bag, stroller or diaper bag in hopes of being fully prepared for a successful outing.
That also means we don’t have to be home at certain times of the day or afternoon for naps. Â It most definitely has it’s upsides, but also it’s downsides as well. Â We mostly likely will only come home for dinner time, dump all of our wet beach towels in the laundry room and just want to invade the refrigerator. Â When it comes to summer time dinners, I don’t want to in the kitchen scrambling to make something for my hungry family. Â I need more good and quick dinner to pull together and I really love a great slow cooker meal.
My kids are loving this recipe for Slow Cooker Smothered Pork Chops lately. Â It’s one of those no cry dinners that I cherish so much! Â Not the actual recipe, but that everyone is happy with what I made! Â Any other families out there like mine? Â I sure hope I’m not alone in this.
I made this tonight for dinner…well I actually made it this morning because I used the crock pot. Â I threw frozen pork chops along with the sauce, set it and went about my busy day. Â I made some mashed potatoes in the Instant Pot (it took about 12 minutes from start to finish) and made a veggie while everything was finishing up. Â EASY!
You could also give yourself a break and recreate this for a comforting Sunday dinner. Â Make some rolls and homemade Orange Honey Butter and you’ll be everyone favorite person!
I usually switch off serving this with mashed potatoes and steamed rice. Â It would be wonderful over some pasta, too.
