There are some people out there who just don’t

like pasta salads.

I’m not one of them!

Tell me which one you’d add to your plate first and I’ll send you the recipe!

I know. I know. Let’s not discuss it.

*Whispers-Christmas is around the corner*

The only reason I bring it up is we actually have these Pull Aparts every Christmas morning.

It’s tradition.

Sometimes, though, I make these smaller versions and have them on the weekends in the summer, spring and fall!

You can see how easy they are. I’ll send you all the details. Just leave the word CHRISTMAS below!

Have you ever been embarrassed, yet so grateful all at once?

Quite a few years ago, I was a young mom of three busy little boys.
We were doing our weekly grocery shopping at @heb . Two were piled in the grocery cart and the oldest was old enough to hang on the side.

This week our budget was so tight. It was one of those times in life where our one car needed new tires and our washing machine had just given out.

I remember having exactly $27 dollars to spend.
No more no less.

I only got the essentials, but thought I had enough to splurge a bit a id could buy hot dogs for my boys.

We stood in line and I was familiar with the cashier.
She was an older lady named Maria and was always so kind yet super efficient and got you through her line lickity split.

My total rang up at $27.88. I didn’t have the $.88 cents so I politely asked her to take the hot dogs off.

She was in cashier mode and grabbed the hotdog before they could be bagged.

As she grabbed that packet, her eyes slipped past all three of my boys been up to me.

She hesitated for a moment to put the hotdog in my bags. She said, “No, honey. The hot dogs are on me today.”

I told her she didn’t have to do that and she said all little boys should have hotdog for a fun summer lunch.

I was so grateful to her, but embarrassed all at the same time. I was frustrated with where we were in life of the time, even though we were trying our best.

Because of my pride, I avoided ever going through her land again. I knew she probably wouldn’t remember me or even bring it up if she did. I was just on a hard place mentally. Her genuine kindness never was forgotten, though.

We moved to the next town over (not far) and started shopping at a different HEB. It wasn’t just until a few years ago that it really sunk in exactly what such a simple act of love did for my heart and soul.

I wrote her a thank you note in the envelope I included $.88 and a gift card that I kept in my purse. I would frequent that location more often and look for her.

**This caption is too long, but if you’d like the rest of the story leave a comment and I’ll tell you the rest.

then it turns out you might be

normal!!

If I could go back in time, I would only have these 6 kitchen items in my drawer.

Spurtle
Cookie Scoop
Microplane
16 slice apple slicer
Stainless steel lemon squeezer
Vegetable peeler

Okay, okay. And a bread knife, too!

I mean, I could just go ahead and dejunk, but going back in time just seems more fun!

I’ll send you the links to my favs if you want!
Comment DRAWER and I’ll share it in your messages.

Then it’s most likely you are absolutely

normal!

I’m not a huge kitchen gadget type of gal, but I’m sure you peeked on a few in my drawers.

Even though I have all these tools, there are 6 that I constantly grab for over and over.

If I had to give up everything and only keep these 6 I could serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Let’s see if you agree on this list. I’ll send it to you when you comment what your favorite kitchen tool is!

*I even want to know if it’s the Door Dash app! 😆

All I have to say is 2 words and 90% of you

will want this recipe.

Lemon and Parmesan.

It’s one of those pasta dishes that’s fabulous served hot or cold.

A few friends have made this recently and served it along side some grilled chicken and asparagus!

Comment RECIPE and I’ll send it over to you in just a bit!

One thing you need to know about New Yorkers.

They’re actually really nice.
But that doesn’t stop them from asking you what you’re waiting in line for and when you tell them “a sandwich” they will repeat your answer back to you and walk away disgusted.

I would happily travel from Austin to NYC again and wait in line over and over again for the French dip sandwich from @salt_hank.

Did you see the bug on the container

on that second water?

Years ago, when I posted this, there was a huge debate in the comment section saying that there was a bug in the water, it was just a thyme leaf floating around. When in actuality, it was a little fruit fly on the outside of the container.

Summer is here so bugs or not we need to stay cool. These refreshers would be perfect for any weekend!

Watermelon Mint
Pineapple Thyme
Cucumber Lemon

Just use plenty of ice!

More like this over at @mynameissnickerdoodle

*If you’re looking for a great drink dispenser I can send you a few ideas! Comment WATER and I’ll send them over in just a bit.
