It would take you less time to

make these at home than it would to drive to a certain chicken establishment and place your order.

Unless you’re lucky and live close to that certain chicken establishment.

My boys request these release twice a week. So easy and fast to make and taste very, very similar to the original.

They are my copy cat version of a little breakfast sandwich from a popular chicken establishment.

It’s one of the menu items we always order if it’s before 10:30 AM Monday-Saturday.

My boys think I’m the coolest mom on the planet when I make these. My oldest took some to school and his friends had thought he had actually stopped off and bought these on the way. He ended up sharing them and these 17-year-olds claimed they were better than the original. I will take that as the ultimate compliment!

I never thought I would ever say this, but could

we get more Halloween songs to choose from?

Now, I love me a good Monster Mash (and that’s not even the name of the song!) and the music from Practical Magic as much as the next person.

There is just something about

Halloween candy I think makes it taste better than every other day of the year candy.

Like, hello!! Who can resist Reese’s pumpkins?

They are the superior holiday pb cup!

Fun size MilkyWay? Yes please!

There’s also something fabulous about slapping some googley candy eyes on plain donut holes that make them taste even better.

Who agrees?

I mean, it does help there’s a spooky bat flying around it.

I was completely shocked this week when

the Texas weather actually had cooled down by 7° !

Whenever that happens we tend to light an autumn candle, put on a pot of soup and still have our AC at full blast!

My kids have taught me just how much

patience I am humanly capable of.

I used to get so frustrated when they wouldn’t eat their apples from their packed lunch for two reasons.

I worried that they didn’t get enough to eat.
And food/money waste.

Guess what.

They got enough to eat and I discovered that if I simply just rinse the apples with water, it prevented them from going brown for more than 36 hours.

Some people like to soak their apples in a bowl of cold water and lemon juice, but this method is so much easier.

I’ll cut up a few apples, rinse them then put them in an airtight container.

If I’m really on top of it, I will put them into snack bags and have them ready to go when my boys are packing their lunch.

I love this apple slicer because it cuts them a little thinner which my boys prefer. If you want the details comment with LUNCH and I’ll send it over.

**I know every city processes their water differently. If you find this doesn’t work, then you can use the classic method of cold water in a bowl with a little citric acid like lemon juice.

There are people who have very strong opinions about

pumpkin flavored things

Those who utterly detest it.

And those who can’t get enough of it.

I fall somewhere in the middle!

But I feel like most people are pretty neutral about apple.

Especially when it comes to desserts like this Apple Tart.

The pastry is super flaky with a slight crisp!

I tend to go a little extra and do different varieties and colors so I can lay them out creating an ombre effect.

And can I just say that there are times I still

crave the microwave zapped Fluffernutter Sandwiches he used to make after a long day of shift work?

I miss him, and my mom.

They are both passed, but I still hold to my memories of them.

A little PSA this time of year…

You can totally throw a Halloween party with fun foods and no one has to get dressed up or play any games.

Don’t get me wrong.

I LOVE a good theme party where everyone dresses up and the host goes all out!

I can’t help but share my famous Feet Loaf recipe for Halloween time.

Do you remember your first

school class Halloween Party?

I don’t remember what my first was, but my first memory included watching Disney’s Trick or Treat (with Witch Hazel), eating a little bowl of popcorn and candy corn mix as I was dressed in a Care Bear costume my mom made.

We had just gotten done making tissue paper Jack-o-lanterns and before that we walked around the school hallways for the costume parade.

That’s when we actually wore Halloween costumes to school and they didn’t have to be booked characters either.

Halloween can be cute and fun or you can make it creepy and scary. I like to be in between those two.
