I’m telling you…you need to give my Strawberry Basil Lemonade recipe a try. If you’ve never had basil in your drink, I’m here to say it’s pretty incredible. I picked up some of the freshest strawberries at @traderjoes and I love to get the basil plant there as well. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Orange Rolls are better than Cinnamon Rolls. Which do you like better? You most certainly can make them into individual rolls, but I like to elevate them just a bit by adding some cream, zest and brown sugar to the pan before layering in the rolls. How different are you from your 10 year old self? My 10 year old self was the pickiest eater. I didn’t even like chips and salsa! That’s why I’m so surprised by my own 10 (almost) year old son. He will eat basically anything with the exception of pb&js. I know!! His all time favorite food is Mexican so I try to make something related to that once a week. This kid of mine even had a Guacamole Cake for his birthday last year (check out my Reels)! I keep these homemade Chicken Taquitos on hand in the freezer because they are pretty incredible and serve up really well. Would your 10 year old self eaten these? Way back in 1989 I was an awkward 6th grader who wore festive turtle necks and a tole painted wood gingerbread man necklace to school to bring a little Christmas cheer. My friend, whose name was Athena and way cooler than me, always came to school dressed in the newest fashion. Her big hair was perfectly sprayed into one of the largest bang fans and she was nice to everyone. One class period someone mocked my childish necklace and I instantly wished I could pull that Christmas tree printed turtle neck over my head. I was a severely shy girl and lacked confidence in every way. Athena overheard what had happened, whipped her gorgeously big hair around and asked me if she could borrow my necklace for the day. She mentioned that she always wanted one just like it. And as instantly and I had felt small, she as quickly made me feel on top of the world. She wore that necklace for the rest of the day. Athena moved states that next month, but I still remember how wonderful she made me feel.
