The summer heat is coming, but it might be somewhat bearable with this Watermelon Slush.

Yesterday I saw watermelons in my grocery store for the first time this season and got a little giddy thinking I’ll be able to sip on these soon.

Without thinking I told our middle son

when he was 4 that ham was just pink chicken because he’d only eat chicken.

It wasn’t until years later I realized how that was not great for when he started to cook on his own.

But ham then became his favorite and then it got him to eat beef so it’s only a partial regret.

My mom very rarely did these two things.

Baked.

The chocolate chips are my addition to this recipe, but it’s the secret the secret ingredient that makes these so soft and fluffy.

My mom made these for me when I was a kid and I’ve now been making them for my boys for 18 years.

“I really wish these muffins were

perfectly shaped.”

I have food friends who make the most gorgeous muffins. They have the best domes and are ultra bakery ready.

But this is why I think my Banana Muffins with Chocolate Chips are absolute perfection.

It’s a recipe my mom used to bake.

And now I make a triple batch of these heavenly muffins every month to keep in my freezer for my boys to enjoy.
