Easy Restaurant Salsa

Restaurant Salsa only takes 5 minutes to make and is the easiest recipe. It’s a perfect mix of pantry staples and simple, fresh ingredients! My entire family loves this bright and flavorful salsa. If you want it spicy you can blend in a fresh jalapeno.

Chips and Salsa

I don’t know a single person who doesn’t like chips and salsa.

I am pretty sure you aren’t one of those people because you are reading this post!

Chips and salsa are just such a classic appetizer, snack and let’s be honest. It is practically lunch and dinner sometimes because I love it that much.

Originally this recipe came from a friend who raved about her sister’s salsa recipe. She made me some and I was hooked!

I’ve altered it over the years because my store was either out of some of the ingredients and I wanted to amp up some more flavors to it.

This recipe is one of my favorites to make a whole batch of then give it away to friends and neighbors. It’s super kid friendly as is, but you can certainly add in hot green chilis and a fresh jalapeno if you’d like.

How To Make Restaurant Style Salsa

  • Add 4 cans of drained diced tomatoes into a food processor.
  • Pour in tomato sauce and canned green chilies. You can add mild, medium or hot depending on what kind of heat you want.
  • Rough chop half of a purple onion and a whole green bell pepper and add those to the food processor.
  • Remove the rough stems from the cilantro and trim off the roots from the green onions. Add both of those to the food processor.
  • Add in the peeled garlic cloves, salt and sugar.
  • Pulse for 30-60 seconds until finely chopped, but not pureed. This is also left up to you and what kind of texture you want for your salsa. My husband likes it more chunky.
  • Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and let it chill for 24 hours before serving.
  • If you want an extra kick add in an entire jalapeno. Remove the stem and blend it with the other ingredients. The spiciness level depends on if you add the seeds or not.
